The Granada Festival, in collaboration with the University of Granada presents a film series titled ‘Soundtracks for the 75th Granada Festival’
9 abril
To celebrate such a significant date as the 75th edition of the Granada Festival, the Festival and the Madraza-Centre for Contemporary Culture at the University of Granada (UGR), through the University Film Club/‘Eugenio Martín’ Cinema Workshop, are joining forces to organise a series of screenings in which music and cinema intertwine in a unique and enriching tribute.
From this symbiosis of the senses, the idea for this extraordinary activity came as a prelude to the Festival: the screening of six films whose soundtracks are directly related to the Festival’s concerts. Thus, each of the 6 films to be screened is linked, as indicated in the header of each session, to some of the musical activities that this 2026 edition will bring.
From Monday, 13 April until 15 June at 8.30 pm in the Sala Máxima at Espacio V Centenario, free screenings (in the original language with subtitles) will be held, taking audiences on a journey through the history of cinema – from the past to the present day, and from Europe to the United States. The series includes titles that caused enormous impact at the time of their release, such as The Pianist and Shutter Island, as well as little gems to be discovered (or rediscovered) like Elevator to the Gallows, Charly, and The Profession of Arms, along with resounding masterpieces of 21st-century cinema like Nomadland.
