The City Council recovers the old botellódromo with two new facilities, making it the first sports venue under the Granada 2031 Capital of Culture programme to promote sport in local neighbourhoods

The City Council of Granada has completed the construction of two new sports courts in the old botellódromo. This space, which had been disused for years, is being reclaimed for the city 'as the first sports venue of the Granada 2031 candidacy, aimed at promoting sports in local neighborhoods and serving as a meeting point for healthy leisure and physical activity’s as emphasized by the Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo.
This project, which has involved an investment of €90,000, provides the Ronda district with new public sports facilities, responding to local residents’ requests and the growing popularity of sport in the area. The
project includes two courts, one for basketball and one for futsal, designed with non-slip mineralized resins and with an innovative aesthetic that transforms this space into an attractive environment, especially for the youngest.
