The Castillo de La Calahorra will host the extraordinary concert celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada
16 june
The event will bring together the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and the Coro de la Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, under the baton of conductor Donato Renzetti, to perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, one of the most transcendental works in musical history. Conceived as the culmination of classical symphonism and an opening toward a new idea of the universal, the Ninth Symphony integrates orchestral architecture, choral dimension, and a humanist message—expressed in Friedrich Schiller’s celebrated Ode to Joy—into an unprecedented artistic synthesis.
The performance of this work in a setting of extraordinary heritage value reinforces the commemorative and symbolic character of the concert, which will unite heritage, landscape, and music around a score associated with celebration, fraternity, and the collective projection of art.
Before the start of the concert, attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Castillo de La Calahorra through organized tours in groups, allowing them to discover up close one of the province’s most unique monuments.
