Radio Marca Granada joins city’s bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2031

The sports radio station Radio Marca Granada has joined the network endorsing Granada’s bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2031, in a gesture that strengthens the cross-cutting nature of the project and the connection between culture, communication and sport. Under the direction of José Ángel Martos Pérez, Radio Marca has established a unique style combining sports news, local engagement, and accessible information.
The City Council of Granada welcomed the addition of this specialised media outlet, which has strong grassroots support. The Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, also welcomed the endorsement, noting that Radio Marca exemplifies how the city’s cultural narrative also plays out in its stadiums, sports halls and streets.
