Today, more than 30 neighbourhood associations officially joined Granada’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2031 at a signing ceremony held at the “Cuarto Real de Santo Domingo” heritage museum. Those in attendance included the Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo; the Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Neighbourhood Associations, Eduardo Ortega; Granada City Councillor for Citizen Participation, Francisco Almohalla; and Granada City Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Juan Ramón Ferreira.
Held in the gardens of this historic site, the event brought together neighbourhood association representatives from all of Granada’s districts in order to publicly express their support for the bid. During the ceremony, representatives from each association signed the document and posed for photographs with the Mayor of Granada and other municipal officials. The Antequeruela String Trio provided musical accompaniment throughout the ceremony.
