From 20 to 25 October 2025, Granada will host the 2nd International Peace Forum, serving once again as a platform for dialogue, coexistence and a culture of peace. The event will take place under the slogan “Violencia y paz: tensiones y oportunidades en la búsqueda de una humanidad común” (Violence and Peace: Tensions and Opportunities in the Search for a Common Humanity).
Organised by the “Unamos Culturas” Foundation created by Julián Ramírez García, as well as the University of Granada’s Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPAZ), the Forum will feature the active involvement of Granada City Council, the University of Granada, and several partner institutions. This collective initiative is co-organised by the UGR through its Rector, Pedro Mercado, with Professor Mario López acting as the academic coordinator of the event.
For six days, Granada will be transformed into a major arena for critical reflection and collective participation with the aim of addressing the global challenges of violence, inequality and conflict. The Mayor of Granada has encouraged the entire city to get involved in this significant event, which has been recognised for its cultural and institutional importance. The Forum will undoubtedly establish Granada as a global leader in coexistence, ethical commitment and peacebuilding based on a grassroots approach.
