City Council approves GEGSA's budget for 2026, boosting its commitment to culture, sport and Granada's ECOC 2031 bid
29 July 2025
Granada City Council spokesperson Jorge Saavedra announced today that the Management Board has approved the 2026 budget for the municipal event-management company, Granada Eventos Globales (GEGSA). The 2026 budget foresees an increase of almost €50,000 in revenue compared to 2025. Saavedra emphasised that the budget underscores the governing team’s firm commitment to promoting culture and sports in the city.
The budget has been drawn up with a view to supporting the responsible and sustainable management of this financially sound municipal company, which has no outstanding debt. Revenue is forecast at €4,680,157.56 for 2026, of which €1,946,125.00 will come from GEGSA’s turnover — a 2.65% increase on 2025 — with the remainder coming from municipal contributions and repayments. The projected expenditure for 2026 amounts to €4,670,754.72.
The councillor pointed out that this is a clear example of responsible management, sustainable growth, and commitment to culture and sport as strategic pillars for the city’s future.
