The event was part of the programme marking the 75th anniversary of the International Music and Dance Festival of Granada.
On Monday, Granada’s Parque de las Ciencias Science Museum was the setting for an extraordinary artistic event combining music, science and environmental awareness in a one-of-a-kind performance.
Under the title ‘N-ICE Cello’, renowned Italian cellist Giovanni Sollima performed a unique concert using an instrument made entirely of glacial ice. This ephemeral and symbolic artefact turned the performance into a powerful metaphor for global warming and the fragility of the planet.
The event was part of the programme marking the 75th anniversary of the International Music and Dance Festival of Granada. It also boosted the wave of momentum that is sweeping the city in its bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2031. This musical initiative also reinforces the links between artistic production, science communication and social commitment.
