Granada Club de Fútbol (CF) will reaffirm its commitment to the city’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2031 during tomorrow’s match against Real Sociedad B at the “Estadio Municipal Nuevo Los Cármenes” Stadium (9 p.m.).

In a match steeped in symbolism, the club will demonstrate its support for the city’s cultural aspirations through a series of coordinated actions, harnessing the potential of football as a platform to promote the bid. Notably, 2031 will coincide with the centenary of Granada CF’s foundation, forging a special link between the club’s history and this significant project for the city.

The Granada CF players will take to the pitch wearing shirts promoting Granada 2031 — a gesture that will also be captured in the official photograph of the starting eleven. Likewise, children from the Granada CF academy will accompany the players from both teams onto the pitch, also wearing shirts promoting the bid. This will reinforce the inclusive and collective nature of the initiative.

The club’s endorsement will also be displayed at the stadium through the broadcasting of a commercial on the video scoreboard, and through the inclusion of the Granada 2031 logo on the stadium’s LED screens.
