Granada celebrates its 2026 Book Fair in an intense and engaging cultural spring, with its sights set on the European Capital of Culture 2031

The Granada Book Fair will take place from April 23 (World Book Day) to May 3, coinciding with the Day of the Cross festivity. It is a special edition that, under the motto ‘Once Five Years Pass’, inspired by Federico García Lorca, will project the city towards its goal of becoming the European Capital of Culture 2031. As the largest book fair in the southern Iberian Peninsula and one of the most important in the nationally, the event will boast nearly 400 linear meters of stalls distributed across almost one hundred modules. Activities will take place in iconic venues such as the City Hall, the Federico García Lorca Centre, and the Library of Andalusia.
The mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, highlighted that “Granada is living this period with immense enthusiasm and awareness of the future that awaits us, and we must emphasize that our Book Fair has always been a national reference following fairs as important as the one in Madrid.
