On Friday, Granada City Council celebrated Andalusian Roma Day with an institutional event that brought together representatives from academia and Roma associations in the city.

The meeting served to highlight the heritage and history of the Roma people, as well as their contribution to the cultural identity of Granada and the whole of Andalusia. During her speech, the Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, underscored the profound influence that the Roma people have had on the region, emphasising that “Granada is a melting pot of cultures, in which the Roma people occupy an essential”.
