The meeting brings together universities, public administrations, cultural institutions, social agents, professionals, and citizens around a shared objective: to generate useful proposals connected with the real challenges of the territory and aligned with the vision of the 2031 European Capital of Culture Granada bid

The presentation of the 2031 European Capital of Culture Granada bid as an Andalusian laboratory for cultural and territorial innovation was one of the highlights of the 2nd Impronta Andalucía Encounter: Culture, Heritage, City, and Territory. This event took place on June 9 and 10 and served to collectively think about and design how culture, heritage, the city, and the territory can contribute to the future of Andalusia. It is an activity promoted by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Andalusian Institute of Public Administration, and by the University of Granada. The rector of the UGR, Pedro Mercado, the vice-rector for Social Innovation, Employability and Entrepreneurship, Esteban Romero, and the vice-rector for the Ceuta and Melilla Campuses, Strategic Planning and Communication, Salvador del Barrio, participated in the inauguration of this event, held in Carmen de los Mártires, together with municipal, provincial and regional authorities.

Different co-creation labs addressed topics such as cultural and creative industries, heritage, sustainability, education, cultural impact assessment, public innovation, citizen participation, and the connection between urban and rural areas.

Impronta Andalucía is an initiative of the UGR and the Junta de Andalucía, promoted through the Andalusian Institute of Public Administration. It is designed as a platform for collaboration between Andalusia’s public universities and the regional government, with the aim of linking academic knowledge, public innovation and regional challenges. It is organized within the framework of the FECYT call for Public Innovation.
